Just Another Day at Work (OPEN)

Dante lounged in his chair, with his feet up on his desk. He was in this position, just barely drifting off when his phone rang. He growled in agitation and kicked the desk, knocking the phone into the air, where he grabbed it.

Devil May Cry He yawned. How can I help you?

(OOC: Anybody can be calling. I was just bored and wanted to post)

At the other side of the phone, the voice of a young man could be hear. This young man was talking from a public phone, at some streets from the Devil May Cry, so he could talk with a bit of safety with this man.

The Devil May Cry... The name of this Devil Hunter's shop was getting famous and famous through the people that know about the existance of demons, and more interesting were the rumors that were told about this shop from the Demons... It was better to know if this was true or not. The voice was calm, and after some moments, he said:

Am I speaking with Dante? The son of Sparda?

Dante perked up a bit and replied Who wants to know? He was getting on edge. Perhaps it was another one of his father's enemies that decided to come after him. If that was the case he'd have to be ready. Not too many people around here knew anything about his father. This man, or possibly demon, would have to have a rather long memory...

The man did not gave him a clear answer, but simply said "Who wants to know?". Yet, by the way he said it, it seemed that HE was really Dante, the son of the Legendary Dark Knight, Sparda. For the rumors, he knew that this Dante has done many things after his father, like defeating Mundus again or stopping tha strange Demon from gaining enough power to be as strong as Mundus.

This man was the enemy of the demons, yet he was not sure if he was an enemy of his...

I don't need to give you my name, but I'm not an enemy. Just a man that has plenty of information on his mind about this subject... I will repeat the question: Are you Dante, the son of Sparda?

Dante sat back in his chair and toyed with the wire on the phone. To the untrained eye it appeared he had relaxed, but actually he was still not sure who this man was. He seemed to know a bit about his father.

Yeah, I'm Dante. But I'm assuming you already knew that, since you called. Is there something you want from me? Dante relaxed his voice, making himself sound more laid back than he was actually feeling.

Well, there it was. This man was Dante, after all. All the rumors that he had heard, should be true too. This man was really powerful, and there was no need of having this man as an enemy... And there shouldn't even be a reason for that to happend.

I just wanted to make sure that you were the man I was looking for. I'll come by to your shop in some minutes, so we can talk personally...

And so, he left the phone there and started to walk to some street, in the direction to the Devil May Cry. When he arrived, he saw a big sign above the shop, in red letters, and showing the figure of a man with a sword at its side. This was obviously the shop, because the letters said: "Devil May Cry".

Saraki walked in, and started to talk to Dante immideately:

My name is Saraki Blackwind, ex member of the Mundus Army. Now, just a man that has betrayed his home for this world...

Dante hung up the phone and waited. The man would be here soon. While he waited he grabbed another slice of now cold pizza that was sitting on his desk. He was halfway through eating it when the man walked into his shop and introduced himself. He quickly swallowed the bite he'd been chewing and threw the half-eaten slice back into the box.

A member of Mundus' army you say? So you are a demon. But you smell of more things than the stink of demon. You smell very human too. So, I'm assuming you want something from me? Spit it out. Do you want my help or do you want a fight?

With that, Dante grabbed the half-eaten slice and took another bite. His calm and relaxed exterior was a front, as his eyes showed how wary he truely was of Saraki Blackwind.

Saraki made a sign with his hands, a bit surprised when this man said if he wanted a fight or something like that.

A fight? No, and I'm not even here to request your help. I was going to offer an alliance between you an me... Dark times are coming, y'see, and through the local demons, many rumors can be heard.

He was a bit bothered about that. Demons has been saying things like the return of Sparda's second child, Vergil, or the fact that Mundus is going to come back soon. They needed alliances in order to win, because alone it was not going to be too easy.

As for the "demon" thing, I am not truly a demon right now. A strange and holy person transformed me into a human, yet I still have many things that belongs to demons.

Dante continued eating his pizza and didn't reply until he had finished his slice. He then licked his fingers clean. No. He answered simply with that single word. While it's interesting to note that you were transformed from a demon to a human, I still say no. I can handle what comes my way, and I'm not helping you without being paid. Sorry, but that's the way the world works. I'm so far in debt already, I couldn't possibly take on any more free jobs.

Afterwards he reached into the box for another slice of pizza.

Saraki didn't get angry or something like that when Dante said so, but instead he started to laught a but. It has been a while since someone was absolutely sincere to him. After a while of laughing, he said to Dante:

Despite you being Sparda's soon, you absolutely don't have anything from him. Well, what if we make a deal? Each time I need your help when something bad happens, I'll come here with the hands full of money. Belive me or not, I have plenty of those green dolars with me.

Saraki was in a good humor, and he didn't seem to be bothered or worried about what he had heard.

Dante was startled when the man laughed. This was not the response he was expecting. He put down the slice of pizza and pressed the tips of his fingers together. Money, you say? I might be able to help you then. He began to smirk a bit. So....you knew my father? That's interesting. And Vergil's return? Unlikely, but I wouldn't put it past him. But Mundus himself was sealed away by yours truely. I can't see him escaping any time soon. He motioned Saraki to the chair across from his desk. So...how much money are we talking?

Saraki slowly walked to the chair across Dante's desk, and sat down, looking at the half demon at the eyes. He started to think what he was going to say, and after a while he answered:

Yes, I met your father in one ocation. Really serious guy, may I say. He was around the Demon World when I met him. They told us to kill him if we see his face around, yet I only asked him a few things and he left... I had no intention of fighting him.

Saraki stoped for a while, looking at the things on the desk.

Vergil is his name, eh? Well, there has been only rumors about his re appearance, yet I'm not completely sure. Some say he is in the Temen-ni-gru, and others in the Demon World. And the thing about Mundus is something that might truly happend. After you defeated him, he was trapped underground by some magic, but he might come back.

After hearing his last question, about the money, Saraki smiled and said:

How much money would you put for your help?

Dante's desk was a mess, at least 3 boxes of pizza dotted it's surface. A photo of Trish sat atop it.

Sorry about the mess. He said when he noticed Saraki glancing over it. Yes, my twin brother's name is Vergil. I wish it were true, but I doubt his return. And if Mundus does come back, I can just seal him again.

He was pleased when the conversation turned back to money. Let's say....$600 for the first time, and $300-$500 for everyone after that, depending on the seriousness. Sound fair to you? At that rate Dante's debts would be paid off by the end of the month....hopefully.

After hearing the price that Dante was asking for, Saraki found himself a bit surprised, yet then he calmed down, saying:

Well, sounds fair. I have some $600 right now, and considering that this important events in which I will need your help are not really common, I will be OK with the spent of money. Yet... if you need that much, then your debts should be really high...

Saraki looked around, watching at the many heads of demons and monsters that were hanging around, and the many blades stabbed on those heads.

Oh, I don't know if you have heard, but it seems that some Demons had seen your father alive and well roaming around the human world. Rumors, but, they might be true...

Saraki stand up, and walked around the shop, with little intention of leaving yet.

Unfortuneately, yes. My debts are rather high.

Dante's chair fell flat on the floor, from it's previous position of up on the back 2 legs. His face showed his surprise loud and clear. My....fa....ther? Dante was absolutely certain his father had died, so to hear something like this was enough to almost completely flip his life upside-down.

He stood up quickly. Where did you hear that rumor? Desperation shown in his eye, he wasn't sure what he would do once he met his father, but he knew he'd do something.

Saraki saw that Dante was highly interested on what he said about Sparda. He went near the desk and said to the half demon:

Well, it while I was still a demon, maybe a month ago, when I heard some of my own kind saying that they had seen Sparda around the Demon World, and then the Human World. According to them, the man was weakened and almost died in one battle, leaving him without his demon powers. Then he found a way to retrieve it, and went to the human world. I don't know why, but he seems to be around...

Saraki also thought that Sparda died until he heard that rumor. The demon was at least 20 time older than him, so he was interested in that.

Sorry if I can't tell you more.

Dante slammed his fist down on the desk. If that's all you know, then that's all you know. I'm leaving. I don't know when I'll be back. Morrisson will take care of you. MORRISSON! Gah, why is he never around when I need him.

Dante walked over to his weapon wall and holstered his guns, then placed his sword across his back. He walked towards the door. Is there anything else you can tell me? Like what this first mission of yours is? It'll be a good a place as any to start my search.

Saraki smiled for some time, while walking towards Dante. It was clear that this man wanted to see his father right now, but with unknown porpuses.

Well, I don't have any missions right now. I just came for the alliance. But if you want a good place to search for your father, I would recomend the Temen-ni-gru, for a start. It has been said that the tower is a good place to go to the Demon World, and your father might have used that to regain his powers. He might still be there...

Saraki walked out the Devil May Cry before Dante, and said:

I would like to you with you, but it seems that this will be a family mather. Until next time we meet, Dante!

He said that, moving his hand in the air.

I appreciate all your help. I really do. Dante raised his hand in the air and walked out the door, on his way to Temen-Ni-Gru....and hopefully, his father.
